I love the newness that goes away after the first wash. Unwashed new clothing doesn't bother my skin.

Same here. I never wash new clothes and have never had any problems.

No.  I'm totally paranoid about the amount of wear and tear even gentle handwashing causes my clothes, I wash them as little as humanly possible.

Ditto...I don't think anything ever fits the same after i wash it...i'm sure most of it is me being paranoid and being a horrible laundress, so I just wash as little as possible...my best stuff i have drycleaned...

I generally don't.  I'm actually wearing a brand new shirt right now that I didn't wash.

Same. I don't think anything is ever the same after I wash it, which is why I dry clean almost everything.

nope, never on new clothes. and for those who are concerned about what's on them, you may want to reconsider ever eating in a restaurant again... you'd be amazed what you are unknowingly exposed to on a daily basis.

I NEVER eat in restaurants only organic homemade foods and only natural body products, so I guess Im that type of person who is concerned about this stuff.

never... it just isn't practical for me since most of the stuff I buy is intended for work, so it's dry-clean only.

I always wash underwear before wearing them.  But clothes usually don't get washed unless they have "store odor".

Same here.  I have confidence in my immune system, and like D said, there are tons of gross things i'm exposed to everyday just being in public.

i love the way new clothes feel and fit -- i feel like they're never the same after washing.

my bf, on the other hand, refused to wear anything w/o washing it and it drives me crazy.

Lingerie & thrift/vintage store items, yes.  Everything else just depends on what the item is & the condition of it.

Not if it is dry clean only.  Otherwise, I will do it if it's wrinkled or has that weird smell shipped clothing gets.

I think most of the time I don't. However, I just bought some clothing at Old Navy, which is a little large. I'm hoping they'll shrink a bit if I wash them first.

What I'd like to know is who doesn't wash new underwear before they wear them? Maybe it's just me, but I could not buy a pair and then wear them without washing... Creeps me out!

Same here; the only clothes I do wash are those from thrift/2nd hand stores.

I almost never do, but I will if it smells like chemicals or looks dirty.  Other than that, I've never had a problem.
