My mom told me that you are supposed to wash all clothes before you wear them to get the chemicals they add for shipping purposes out of the clothes and I looked it up and its true. I am wearing a shirt right now that has never been washed yet. Do you all wash your clothes before the first wear?
I really should, but seeing as the laundry is down 3 flights of rickety outdoor stairs, across a courtyard, and in a creepy basement, I don't. I recently had a Free People tee that I didn't wash that bled all over everything else I was wearing, ruining the lining of my favorite jacket and a white tank top. Now that I have washed it, it doesn't bleed anymore. So had I just washed it first, it would never have wronged me.
Also, I think Laken1 told a story about getting a rash from a new tshirt. That sticks in the back of my mind every time I go to wear something new I haven't washed yet.
Usually no. When I buy something I'm usually so excited that I want to wear it the very next day, and often do. If it's something I'm positive I'll keep, and positively won't want or be able to wear in the next week or two, I might throw it in the laundry basket, but even then I don't do it every time.

Definitely - lots of things are too stiff and/or folded. I hate that and want to soften it up. Also clothes always smell like the store they came from and that annoys me - I want them to be fresh and clean!
