I've been arguing w/People PC for the last hour to no avail. We prepaid 5 months worth of internet service on our old phone number. After the 5 months they have been charging me $10.95, we no longer have the phone number nor have we used it after the 5 months. They refuse to give me the extra 2 months they've charge me back. IF I had used the service or knew in advance they would do this, I would have cancelled it. I thought after the 5 months, I wouldnt be able to access people PC w/o renewing it again, afterall, I dont have a contract!
It's not that much money, but that fact that they are being so difficult and fighting over $22 is making me crazy! Finally the guy puts me on hold to "check", he hangs up on me! I dont think it was an accident.
I want to file a claim w/my bank to get the charges reversed, has anyone ever done this?
Yup, I had to do it with Netflix (it was a very similar situation to what you've described).
I eventually ended up on a three-way call with a banker, a netflix representitive and myself. I can't remember exactly what we worked out, but it was some type of compromise (I don't think I got all charges reversed, but the majority of them were).
Yes, I had to do that with AT&T once and had a three-way phone call too. Just call your bank and explain what happened -- they are there to be on your side, after all -- and they should help you out. Good luck!
