But I agree on your other point..I'm wondering if I should just hold out for a non-suede.

I would hold out for non-suede (even though I suede).  I have a teal suede bag that I have to be careful what I wear with - even after scotch-guarding it, the color still rubs off on my clothes .

Edited:  It's gorgeous, but suede is very difficult to care for.  I don't think the price is too bad, but caring for the suede is what would dissuade me.
