chase just has the craziest highest fees for everything.. offers no perks but is a pretty good bank for small business loans. i mean chase is everywhere in the city, but they also drive me insane! can anyone tell me more about credit unions?

the thing with credit unions is that they're hard to just join. usually you have to have some sort of special affiliation, like being a teacher or working for the city. i recently joined this one

http://www.paragonfcu.org/  b/c you just have to live (work, attend school, or worship) in a certain parts of jersey to be eligible. they cover parts of hudson county, but i'm really bad at geography so i just called and gave them my zip code and the lady was able to tell me in about 5 minutes if i was eligible.

i actually don't use this account much, i just opened it as a favor to  my bro. but i do plan to make more use of it in the future. the other annoying thing is they don't automatically send you an atm card.

I am a bit bias. I work for Washington Mutual. I was a customer for years before I worked there. I switched from bofa due to horible experiences. If you have a wamu I think you will be pleasantly surprised, let me know if you have any ?'s.

I also have a credit union because I have a credit consolidation loan through them. If you are always in the same general are a cu is great but I am always somewhere different and I need a bank that has more than 1 0r 2 locations. You can always get a cu and another bank so when you need flexibility you have it.
