But, yes, I do understand the outfit remorse. Right now, I've been working with a limited fall wardrobe, partially b/c I don't have very many fall clothes and need to build up my wardrobe and partly b/c the few fall clothes that I have are a little tight b/c I've gained about 10 pounds (boohiss!!). Obviously, both problems are completely solvable, but it makes for interesting and sometimes, regretable outfit combos.
I have just accepted that DC is a tough town to be edgy in - whenever I wear something non-mainstream, I love gauging the stares from people. Everyone has outfit remorse - like today, I was late and grabbed a pair of pants that I am hating. I'm so unhappy, I may get a new pair at lunch!
DC, your outfit is cute! Don't have outfit remorse, you looked great. :)

^ I agree w/ you completely about DC. I work in the gov't area so people here basically all dress exactly the same. If by chance I bring going out clothes to change into after being at work all day, I get some at my outfits too.
i understand how you feel. sometimes i wear something and i feel like it looks stupid one day, and the next time i wear it, i feel super cute. maybe it was your conservative pals that made you feel strange. wear the same outfit with a different, more hip bunch, and i bet you'll feel like a hot mama then.

First off, I think you look great! The cardi makes it more conservative and less trendy anyways. So good job by you!
Sometimes my friends will comment negatively on things I wear. I get "Whoa, your earrings are HUGE!" or "Your lipstick is really red in that picture" sometimes, but I just shrug it off. I would say that probably 80% of people *think* they are fashionable, but don't really "get" real fashion (mixing it up, breaking the rules ). Eh, their loss, not yours.

Perfectly said, although where I live, I think that percentage may climb closer to 90%.
