somehow my post got erased. i always like this game.
william is a family name, so like smash, if i had a boy i would name him william and call him liam for short. i also like the names evan, peter and owen for boys.
middle names i like for boys: mckenzie or peyton (more family names), carleton (my dad's name), lang, reed.
girl names: i love olivia, but it's too popular now so i wouldn't use it. i also like fiona and quinn. i really like the name gray, but it's kind of weird and i'm not sure if i'd be bold enough to do it. whatever her first name is, her middle name will be jean-marie.
actually, now that i think about it, carleton might be a cute name for a girl, and then i could call her carly for short. i wonder if that would upset my dad?
Girl name: Thea. Like in that movie with Molly Ringwald, what was that called?
Boy: Mason. My MIL makes fun of my husband and mispronounces his name as Mason. I think someone did that when he was young, but I really like that name. He wants to veto it. I think my MIL would get a kick out of it.
i do like grayson--i had a really cool psychology prof. whose name was grayson--she was this cool, eccentric, somewhat batty old southern lady. i loved her. but one of my friends from HS named her daughter the same name (spelled differently) so i wouldn't want to seem like i was copying her, even though i wouldn't be.
OK, well, I'll preface this by saying my husband and I already have our kids' names picked out (Colin & Caitlin/Katelyn...super-popular now, but we picked them back when we were like 18, LOL). We're currently negotiating whether I can use my maiden name as all of my children's middle names.
But if I didn't have to agree with somebody, my favorites are:
Girls: Clare, Isabelle, Kennedy, Chloe, Natalie, Giselle, Grace, Avery. Also love Emery, but it's my sister's name.
Boys: Andersen, Patrick, Sean, Gavin
It's hard since I work with kids -- so many names ruled out due to bad association. LOL

If you can believe it, counting the person you know I only 'know' of 3 Evangelines. Total. Now I'm sure there are more out there but that's gotta speak something of how not-super-mainstream-but-kinda-cool it is, right? It was my grandmother's name, but she never went by it either. Everyone called her Van . I hadn't thought of the Angie nickname yet . . . so many possibilities!

I think Gray is an awesome name for a girl. My mom has a friend named Gray and I have always thought that was cool- I forgot about that.
Quinn is really cool too. That is one of the names in running for my cat. I really like it for a girl, but I have about 20 other names that I want to name a girl and I don't plan on having babies, so I figured I could spare Quinn for my cat.

Like Captain and Tenille?

I have always loved Chloe, Jasmine, and Audrey Grace...can't use Chloe though because BFs last name could make any number of names seem goofy. Including my own.
My favorite boy name is Darren...need to think more on this one.

Ha ha...she gets that a lot. It's still pretty.
Oh, and here's another tip for everyone: Please don't name your child Ashley unless you spell it that way. We have students named Ashli, Ashleigh, Ashlee, Ashlie, Ashly, Ashlei and Ashely. Drives me nuts!

I totally have to agree with that. I HATE when people spell kids names crazy. If you want to name them a weird name that is cool, but changing the spelling on a classic name just to make it more unique drives me crazy. I knew a kind named Tony, but his "clever" parents spelled it Towknee- he HATED IT. I always felt bad for him and then when he turned 18 he changed the spelling to Tony. It was always the samething at the start of the school year. The teachers would butcher his name.

i'm not having kids, and the only thing i ever think i'll regret about the decision is that i won't ever get to name anything. i still have some names picked just in case.
girl: moira or shea (both after my sister, and shea is a family name), rory, siobhan, quinn
boy: eamon, quinn, rory (my brother's name)
i also have names picked for the french bulldog that i'm proabably never going to get: frieda (as in kahlo) or javelina (which is a type of wild pig that lives in the southwest and mexico, perfect for a french bulldog).
