Just 'cause . FH and I have been randomly spurting names at each other lately, and it has become apparent that we are totally screwed if we have a boy. And our poor girl baby will be stuck with 13 names. We have also realized that FH's last name, while easy to pronounce and fairly common-ish, has really put a damper on our name-picking. So many things sound bad with it - too alliterative, similar sounds, vowels running together, etc. Our favorites change weekly, so while I think we've done this before I thought it might be fun to do again, especially with all the babies flying about around here! I cannot tell you how tired I am of Mykynzye, Madysynn, Jaiydyn etc . . . What are your favorites? Our current ones are:
Girls:
Georgia (Jorja) - Would the 'J' spelling be too kre8tive ?
Evangeline (NN Eva) - family name
Ava
Boys:
Nolan
Owen (can't use b/c of last name)
Noah (can't use b/c of last name)
This is pretty much the short list right now, though I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting. And you?

I'm not sure I'll ever have kids but if I ever do I want to name them:
Girl - Lorelai Cate
(I've loved the name Lorelai since I read some Irish folktales - years before the Gilmore Girls - where the mermaid who lured the men to death was named Lorelai. It's just so magical and pretty! And now, thanks to GG, I know Rory is a nickname for it. Cate is my maternal grandmother's maiden name and I think it's so pretty.)
Boy - Riley Lawrence
Both are family names and they sound so fun and strong, all at the same time. Riley is Irish, too. I guess you know now I'm Irish!
Well my bf seriously has no say if it is a girl, but I do not think he cares because my fave girl name is Italian (which he is). He isn't totally wild about my boy choices, but I told him if he vetoed the two I like most I would name the child after a Shakespeare character and I don't think he is willing to risk having a child named Petruchio or Mercutio, hee-hee.
My #1 for a girl is Bella Giselle, my close second is Ava and Hannah brings up the rear.
My choices for a boy are Van Christopher and Victor Nicholas. My bf's last name starts with a V so I thought the alliteration would be cool for a boy. I also think those names paired with his last name would guarantee the child a place as a seriously cool kid, hee-hee:).

Family Names I like: Margaret (1/2 of sister's double name), Abigail (other sister), Henry (dad), Henrietta, but go by Retta (grandmother), Edgar (great grandfather), Delphia (great grandmother), Jane (other great grandmother), Garrett (grandmother's maiden name)
Calla Corriene for a girl and Creighton Boots for a boy. I also really like Chloe Suzanne and Baylor Jake, in case I have more than one of either. Of course, this all depends on what el hubby wants but those are the names I'll be pushing for. The middle names are all family names; we really like passing around middles in my family, haha.

Rumer-I am a little crazy about the Willis children names
My brother and I are currently fighting over the name Maizy- the University of Michigan's colors are Maize and Blue and we are both die hard U of M fans. I think I will let him have the name, but I haven't told him that yet.
Boys-
Eben (short for Ebenizer)
Ephram
Dodger

my fiance is big on naming the first son after the father and i am not so big on that, so we came up with a compromise. if we have a son, his name will be liam, because my fiance's name is william and liam is kind of close enough to that so that his fixation with naming his son after him is satisfied. my favorite boy's name, jack, doesn't work at all with my fiance's last name, unfortunately. other boy's names we like all seem to end in an "n" sound - sebastian, anderson, garrison. middle name will be beckett, regardless of the first name choice (family name).
if we have a girl her name will probably be ainsley (gaelic version of my name, just to even out the whole naming after thing - heh), but i also have always loved the names fiona, delphine and aria (pronounced like the musical piece), so those might be used for middle names or incase we have a bunch of girls (tee hee).
it's funny, but i've pretty much liked the same names for the past decade. i figured i would have "outgrown" them by now.

Their middle names will probably be my last name and their last name will be their daddy's. haha I havent thought too much into this baby issue yet since i'm still too young but I love both names.
