I would go with the plaid, it's more fun and in the end probably more versatile.

darn it, Vanessa!  actually, that's what's keeping me from ordering it right now (the price).  i just don't know if it will be further reduced.  i am leaning towards the plaid, but thinking i should try it on in the store to find out if i really love it enough to overpay a little for it.
