My husband has a black suit he wore for our wedding (and has worn since). I am pretty sure my dad has a couple of suits, but I doubt he has a tux. I'd be surprised if my stepdad even owns a blazer!

Rentals never fit right and I think it is ashame that the men always get sidelined with their attire for the wedding.
This is exactly what I think too. I want him to feel as special and at his best as I hope to in my wedding gown. He likes to look good and has gotten more into clothes this year, and I know he'd love the experience of being in a really sharp suit.
After he wears a rental again for this black tie party next weekend I'll bring it up again. If he ultimately would rather wear a suit for our wedding than a tux, I don't have a preference either way, but next weekend he can at least compare the quality of a rental tux with the tuxes my brother and dad own and see there is in fact a difference.
Shameless, yes, but I couldn't resist! Yup, the lil man in my life owns a tux...unfortunately it stopped fitting after the first year....but it's fabulousness will live on in all it's turquoise velvet glory! BTW...the price was well worth it...$1.99 at the thrift store the week I found out I was pregnant...and he wore it to 4 weddings, one easter service, and on my birthday!
