I do. What motivates me are two things: 1) if I don't work out, I get cranky, and 2) I'm fortunate enough that when I'm working out on my regular schedule (5-6 days a week, a bit of cardio, a bit of weights, a bit of dance) I can eat what I want without gaining weight. I really think that once you find what works for you, it's easy to stay motivated because you start to like working out. Things to figure out are what time of day you want to work out, what type of activity you want to do, and whether you need a partner or trainer. Then, just force yourself to stick with it for two weeks. After that, it's so much easier.

Starting today, I'm working out! My new gym opens today and I'm super excited. I plan on going 3x after work during the week and going once on weekend mornings, probably to do yoga. It's been a few years since I've been to a gym, so I'm really excited and DH joined too, so I'm excited to do this together.

I do Pilates 3x a week and I do cardio (on the elliptical) 2-3x a week. My motivation is all those pre-preggo clothes that I am going to fit back into! And I love the way I feel right after a workout! I think the key is to know what goals to set for yourself and to not set the sights so high that it is too intimidating to start. I know that with my life (and baby) there is no way I can/will make it to a gym consistently, so I do stuff I can do at home. We bought the elliptical for the house and then I use the windsor pilates dvd's.

I bought a treadmill a few months ago, so I walk on it for half an hour every morning. I started doing it just because I kept gaining weight so I wanted to lose a little and then maintain, but now I really feel a lot better since I've started walking on it regularly. I have more energy, can breathe better, and my skin has a healthy glow to it. Before the treadmill, I would try to exercise with videos but I could never keep my motivation up. And I have to do an exercise that allows me to do something else while exercising to keep myself from getting bored or constantly thinking about how much longer I still have to go. The treadmill works for me because it has a place to set a book or magazine on so I can read while I walk. I've never been an athletic type person, but the treadmill has become a regular part of my morning routine. :)

This is me except I bought an elliptical, since I have bad knees.  I sooo despise the gym and wouldn't ever go, but since we bought the elliptical I've been on it 3-4 times a week no problem.  My motivation is What Not To Wear - I try to time my workouts so I can watch it as I go.  It really helps!  I probably am able to go for an extra 10 or 15 minutes as opposed to when I don't watch anything.  I also walk my dog for 30 minutes every day that it's feasible to do so weather-wise, but we stop to smell the roses alot along our way wink.gif.

Right now since I've built up my stamina on the cardio a bit I'm working on adding some pilates exercises back into my routine, just abs, arms, and inner thighs for now ...

Yes! I work out about 5x/week. I do about 45 minutes of cardio most days and throw in a class or two a wekk (weight lifting, spin, etc.).

I need to do this too, add something into my routine to build up some toning. Especially in my arms since the treadmill doesn't work them. wink
