I used more "Yes" and "Maybe" stickers than I have in a long time. There was a lot that I liked, although many things I will be looking for at lower price points.

Some things I liked.

* The sweater dress in the French Connection ad (p. 90). I MUST own this dress!
* All the Temperley for Target items featured.
* Dorothy Lee's designs, especially the silk jacquard dress.
* The Essie Material Girl and OPI Light My Sapphire nail polishes. I think I'm going to get a pedicure with the latter when it gets cold enough.
* Seychelles Wedge Boots on p. 266 and Bettye Muller ones on p. 280. I am going to both of them on IRL since they look like they might fit my calves.
* The "Modern Gamine" fall trend section, although ridiculously titled, is pretty much how I want to dress this fall to a T. I'm literally salivating over the APC puillover on p. 312. I think I need it, despite it being wool and over $200. Yeesh.
* Knit hats and berets galore! My favorite hats, and for me very wearable since I will still be able to walk all over the place with a cute hat on (which is more than I can say for most shoes...)

I can't say I appreciate

* They're pushing the A-line jackets with full miniskirts. Too much obstruction of waists.
* There was a whole ton of fug stuff in the magazine. Must be fun to be them and go "hmmm, what crazy sh*t can we put in the next issues?"
* All the ridiculous fall trend section titles. I nearly spat out in laughter after reading 'Anglomania' and 'Luxe Biker' too.

I do miss the 'old' Lucky. I remember the first issue I ever read in April 2001and I LOVED everything soooo much. I wish they still retained the spirit that the old Lucky was rife with.

I think what it is is that they've really lost their independant vibe.  Everything feels very mainstream to me, instead of fresh and quirky.  I mean seriously, the whole a-line jackets w/ tulip skirts?  The lower end lines are already making these shapes which means it's been around long enough to trickle all the way down, and it must be the most unflattering combination evaaaaah.  But they put it in anyway, because that's what everyone else is doing these days.

Now I'm pissed I let Mr. Elle talk me into recycling a bunch of my old ones hmm.gif.  I still have a box out in the garage - I think I'll go dig them out so I can read them month by month like they're this year's and just rework what they featured then!

It hasn't shown up in my local drugstore yet. I think I'll just wait until the Vogue comes out. I don't subscribe to any magazines now. The September issues don't show up until two weeks late. Who needs this?

I'm not seeing much of anything I like for fall so far in any magazines or online. I must have too many clothes.

I have seen two or three things that have grabbed me for the moment but within a couple of days I am over my like of them.  I guess not much is grabbing me either.

i was less than impressed and finished the issue in 5 minutes. cry  i long for the days when lucky was a fledgling magazine.  as each issue comes out, the less likely i am to renew my subscription.
