Have you guys gotten/read yours yet?

I just read it yesterday, and found it so-so at best hmm.gif.  I was so excited for it too!  The Septemeber issue was always the best, huge, and stuffed full of all the awesome fall stuff we look forward to so much.  Nothing grabbed me at all this time, it was all either been there/done that or highly unrealistic for the average person.

This was actually my last issue on my subscription.  I think that instead of spending money on it, I'll make a monthly trip to Barnes and Noble when it hits newstands and spend the money on a coffee to drink while I flip through it ...

I have officially given up my subscription as of last month.  I've been on the fence since my last renewal cycle and I just couldn't do it this time.

-I liked the 30's inspired clothing on pg 301
-I liked the designs by Dorothy Lee under Best New Designers.
-want the A.P.C dress on page 300
-There was a to the max top I wanted spotted in an ad and also a pair of spat style boots in an ad on page 241

That is pretty sad when the items I want are in ads.

i enjoyed this issue! the mag has continually gone downhill, but i thought this had a pretty good layout and items (which i can't afford, but that's besides the point).

agree. Stuff was cute, but seemed "recycled" and was waaaaay out of my price range.

I thought the whole issue was okay until I got to the "Luxe Biker" look and then just about laughed my head off. Sooooo ridiculous. "Anglomania" and "Modern Gamine" were pretty funny too. Do they really take themselves that seriously?

I disliked it so much that I tossed after one pass through. I read one page and was so weirded out by the writing!

There was a pair of Coach shoes that I liked, but that is it. I didn't need Lucky to tell me about them.

Blagh.

I really like the section where a woman shows her wardrobe for a week of mix and match.  While I like the individuals making outfits from the Lucky clothing, I really like seeing how people make style out of their own pieces.  My general complaint would be that I want to see it in every issue!

Overall, it was a nice big issue, but I was a little disappointed.  I generally love their shoe suggestions, but this time just found them "off my style."  I thought "luxe biker" was hysterical.  What is a "luxe biker" anyway?

I haven't read completely through it. I flipped through it, and didn't see much.
I used to read the magazine and go, "I want that, and that and that..." That doesn't seem to happen much anymore.

My thoughts exactly!

I did tag a few pages, but none for clothes or shoe items.  I found the fashion in the Fall Trend Special to be pretty unappealing and frankly some of it was ugly IMO.  The angomania/deco/luxe biker/modern gamine stuff?  Just not me on a head to toe basis.

If I had received it, I could review it! As of today, no sign of Lucky in my mailbox. Although I agree, it's not as great as it used to be, I still like it more than my other fashion magazines.

I haven't picked it up from the newsstand, but I'm sure I will soon.

I will admit I'm not a huge fan of Lucky to begin with. I never even picked it up until a year or two ago and I haven't really been satisfied any time I've read it. So I only buy it about 2 times a year. But I got it this month to get some ideas for fall and I was pleasently surprised. There is nothing memorable sticking out in my mind about it, but I do remember liking it a lot more than I have in the past. Still, I didn't dog-ear any pages in Lucky, but in my other mags (Marie Claire and Glamour) I marked a couple pages. And that's a bit sad/surprising, considering that Lucky is actually devoted to shopping and the other ones only have shopping as part of them

I used to love the mag when it was mostly about finding great pieces at every price range, along with some great articles about decor/beauty/life. Now its solely shopping, most of the stuff is barely attractive and about 90% of it is out of my price range. If we all had $500 to spend on a cotton dress, we could pick up Vogue for some references, not Lucky.

Sometimes I'll buy it and finish it front to back within less than an hour, and always wonder "Why did I pick this up???"

Oh yea and the beauty section is philosophical and RARELY about beauty. The editor wrote a book (I cant remember the name) and it was all about how she has access to the best treatments/makeup but doesn't like makeup, doesn't wear it, doesn't need it. OK should this person really be writing about makeup????

ok rant over.

I wish my subscription would come in the mail earlier. I always get it a week or two after you guys and miss out on the discussions. furious

I'll probably get it this weekend.

I really liked the What I'll Be Wearing article with the three different women talking about their favorite stuff for fall. I did like the 40's and deco inspired styles, too. But I guess that's about it.

Same here...and it really makes me mad to see it on the newsstands before I get it in the mail.

It hasn't shown up in my local drugstore yet. I think I'll just wait until the Vogue comes out. I don't subscribe to any magazines now. The September issues don't show up until two weeks late. Who needs this?

I'm not seeing much of anything I like for fall so far in any magazines or online. I must have too many clothes.
