I am not impressed with this bag. For the price I paid (even after the 10% off code from Saks) I should be in love with it. The leather is more pebbley, not as soft, and darker than I thought it would be. For less than half the price, I think the leather on my Bulga, Botkier, and Marc by Marc Jacobs bags is much softer.
It also didn't fit over my shoulder easily (the frame part was in my armpit). Someone on The Purse Forum said the bag was super light, and I didn't think it was any lighter than some of my other bags.
The style was pretty boring too. I had seen a girl carrying a black one before, and thought it looked cute on her. It was pretty blah IRL.
Back to Saks it goes.
Here is the pic from the Saks site:

I think the style is really cute- but i agree that its something you could find for less. has anyone seen any leather frame bags that are $200-$300? Relatively easy to knock off.
some tidbit- i source leathers quite often for belts, accessories (maybe one day i'll do bag design!) and those buttery leathers aren't necessarily "nicer". They definitely feel soft and exensive, but thicker leathers tend to be more expensive- not sure why- maybe because they're stronger? So the softness of a bag isn't a surefire indication of how expensive leather costs- I've bought some really thick leathers that are 2 to 3 TIMES more expensive than something found on a bulga/botkier type bag. I think that miu miu leather is pretty nice, but its not the kind that you'd want to pet.

I know that buttery soft doesn't mean it's nicer necessarily, but I want bags that I want to pet. The leather on my Botkier is think and sturdy, but has a buttery "finish" to it.
And I should add that there's nothing wrong with the leather or the quality of the bag, it just wasn't "my" kind of leather. My review makes it sound like the bag is complete crap, but it's not. Just not what I expected.

yea, i prefer that too. i'll keep that in mind when i'm scheming up designs. i've found hayden harnett to have really soft bags- i got the laptop case as a gift (saving for my mac laptop right now!) and its soo soft.
it is a nice bag- but def. not worth over $300-$400 imho, so good call w/the return.
