'm looking to purchase some clothes that I can wear after delivery until I get back to my regular size.  It may take awhile!

I love my Anthro Bubble Skirt from last year.  It's a size small and since it has the stretchy waist I could literally wear it right now, being 9 months pregnant! Some skirts like that for spring would be great.  Has anyone seen any?

I still want to look cute, even though I won't be in my size 4's after delivering.

I'm open for any suggestions!

I gained a ton of weight with both my kids so I have done the "in between" stage. Honestly, the only thing that worked for me was black (drawstring and foldover) yoga pants. I could wear them directly after delivery and big as a whale and I can wear them now, back at prepreg weight. Otherwise I just shopped cheap at each size. Each time I would drop a size I hit up Old Navy and Target. It's frusterating to keep shrinking out of your clothes but at least at that stage of the game is shrinking and not growing!

You're not going to want to hear this but there is a possibility you will NEVER fit it to your old clothing again. Bodies change when you are pregnant. I am the same weight as before I was pregnant but can not fit in to my old jeans. My hips got wider and they don't appear to be going anywhere. Gwen Stephani is a perfect example, did anyone else notice how much curvier she is despite being thin again?

Anyway, I'm not a super fair example because I had 2 kids close together but at the weight I am at now I would have been a size 4 pre kids, now I'm a size 6.

I have this target skirt:

And I LOVE it. I'm usually a size 6, and I got the small... but it could definitely stretch for an expanded belly! They're on clearance now, too. The website only has the XL and XXL, but I saw a bunch at my Target a while ago in the clearance section for about $15 each

ETA: There are a couple colors, too. There's this blue, purple, and brown... I don't remember if there are others or not

I bought a lot of jersey dresses.  They work well because they're stretchy and comfortable.  Empire waists are good because they'll help hide the belly until your uterus shrinks to normal size.  And even though I've lost the weight I can still wear most of them, so that's a bonus.

i am also at this stage in the game, with a 2 month old daughter and i was tempted to post and ask what the heck i should wear. i agree with the yoga pants, those have been a staple in my wardrobe since about month 3 of my pregnancy. i also have done the stretchy waistband trick and i've been buying cheap "in between" clothes. it's so frustrating that i can't fit into my old clothes yet, though, i get so irritated, but i try to remember that it's only been 2 months and i did gain a LOT of wieght (50 lbs.).

i wanted to mention that after my first daughter, with which i also gained 50 lbs, i was able to fit into my old clothes just fine after several months. my hips were wider at first and my tops were a bit snug since i breastfeed, but once i lost the weight, i had no problems. it could definitely be different for everyone, but just wanted to let you know.

good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and with your babe!

ETA: if you're planning on nursing your baby, get a lot of seperates. dresses are super hard to breastfeed in, unless they are specifically made for that purpose, i've discovered! HTH!

Congrats! If you're a young mommy, you may want to check Alloy. I saw a lot of bottoms with the foldover waist that BellinaJessica mentions worked for her in their recent catalog. That and the babydoll/empire style tops and tunics and dresses...which tends to make people look pregnant even when they're not. I know their apparel quality isn't the highest, but if you're transitioning between sizes you may not want to spend an arm and a leg and a swollen ankle.

Actually, you'll probably be able to wear quite a few of your maternity clothes.  The demi-panel pants and slightly longer shirts/sweaters you wore in your first and second trimesters can be used on the way back down too!

I like the idea of a few wrap dresses that you'll be able to adjust as your size changes.

What I plan on doing is loading up on tops like these from Forever21:

And then getting knit skirts (and knit pants & terry cloth sweats for at home) and also wearing my maternity pants w/demi panel.  Also, Anthro has some cute lounge-y pants that would be acceptable to wear out of the house.  Good luck!

this is what I'm doing...
wrap dresses galore..

I had a few that I owned pre-pregancy and now I'm just wearing those and buying some more till I loose all the weight..
I'm down 25 pounds..I've got about 20 more to go :(
I definitely think my hips have gone to the point of no return..I'm hoping I'm wrong but somehow I don't think so..

I wore a lot! of jersey and velour.  I stayed home for 4 months so I didn't invest in too many nicer pieces.  I would say buy as you go because you have no idea what your body is going to do, some get bigger some get smaller.  I never made it into my old clothes, I had to give them to my sister because breast feeding sucked the life out of me, that and chasing after Mr.

I must day I did evily smirk on the inside because for the first time in 26 years I am smaller than my sister

Don't worry yet!  The tendons/ligaments that hold your hips together are still very loose and stretched out, and it can take them 6 months or more to tighten back up fully!  So don't go makin' any expensive jeans purchases, cause it's far from over !
