Last night I rented this movie. I saw the box at the video store, vaguely remembered wanting to see it (plus I'm in love with Zach Braff), so I picked it up and watched it today.

I know if was supposed to be a movie that gave hope for forgiveness and working things out, and it wasn't like a bad movie, but man... it made me feel like crap because I just started thinking about everything that can go wrong and hurt people in relationships. It made me very cynical and actually very scared for my future.

Who else saw this movie? What did you think of it?

my friend saw it and she said she hated it because she thought rachel bilson's character was really unremarkable- that there wasn't anything special about her other than that she was a cute girl doing the college thing.  Cant say either way since i didn't see it, but if thats the case, than yea, that depresses me.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I was left with the same shitty feeling after watching "Closer."  I love the movie, but it puts me in a really bad, cynical mood after watching it.

Yeah, I saw it and pretty much left the theater feeling depressed and cynical about the way people in relationships can treat eachother.  It was pretty sad and I honestly didn't really care for the movie because of it.  I also didn't really care for the way it ended.

This is exactly how I felt too.  I'm purposefully not seeing The Last Kiss (even though I kind of want to) because I know it'll make me depressed.

I rented it last weekend while BF was in Mammoth and I was stuck at home w/a broken shoulder.  Yup - left me totally depressed and cynical.  Even had to tell my newlywed friend and BF all about it.  It's depressing.  I was really hoping for a sweet movie but it's the anethesis of a romantic comedy I guess.  Ever feel like you are or have been or will be one of those women at some point in your life?

I'm terrified that I will become one of those women. I mean, I can find a guy I'm totally in love with and totally in synch with and we can plan a life and expect all the happiness in the world... but what if I end up like one of them? What if my husband leaves me because he doesn't like me once we have a baby? What if I devote 30 years of my life to someone only to decide he isn't worth it anymore? What if he does that to me?

And I know I'm completely insane in that I want my BF to come over so that we can watch it together. Why do I want him to see that? I have no idea. I mean, it could possibly just plant the seeds of unhappiness in his head as he considers what it will be like to settle down with me and never get to hook up with another "cute brunette." But I feel like it made me so sad that I can't be in on this alone. Plus, then maybe we can spend lots of time reaffirming that we love each other and would never do something like that to each other. That makes me sound insane - but that's how insecure this movie made me! I feel like it's seriously changed me and I can't wait to grow out of this funk it put me into

Spoiler*******

I have very mixed reviews of this movie. It was very "real" to me. I am 30 and a newlywed and this really hit home. My realationship is fine, but I have friends that are getting married, divorced, having babies and people that have had affairs. I really didn't like that he only had to stay outside for one day to redeem his cheating. It was one thing that he kissed the other girl, but then after his pregnant girlfriend found out, he went back? I just hated that part. Sometimes I like to escapre reality and enjoy "Hollywood" endings.

I think that's what I hate the most - this is "real." I got the impression that he stayed outside for longer than I day - it seemed to me like he was out there for at least a couple days, because the first day he slept all alone, the second day the neighbor gave him some lemonade and she gave him a sandwhich, the third day she gave him a blanket and the old man filled up his glas... I don't remember which order they all went in, but I thought that he was out there for at least about 3 days.

I definitely hate that he went right back to rachel bilson, though. I mean, yea I get he was tempted, but when your girlfriend just found out and throws you out of the house, its so that you can go feel guilty all night, not so that you can go make the situation even worse.
