What face products are worth the money.

I am looking at Dr. Hauschka but this could apply to any brand.  What is worth the extra money.  I would think moisturizer because its on your face all day.  But what about toner?  Dr. Hauschka is $30 while something like Burt's Bees is $12.  And face wash, its only on your face for a few minutes so does it matter if its the best quality in the world or can you use bar soap? TIA

I believe face wash and moisturizer are definitely worth the money (especially if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin).  I don't think toner is necessarily worth $30, because to me, as long as the toner is alcohol-free, they all do about the same job.

I also think makeup is worth the money, again, especially for those that have skin that's easily irritated.  I'll pay the money for mineral makeup because I know it gives my skin a better glow and doesn't break me out.  However, my skin is prone to breakouts, so this is something that's really important to me.  I have friends that wouldn't shell out the money because their skin is perfect... I think a lot of it just depends on what your skin is like.

I kind of think that it really depends on what your problem areas are. If you're really concerned about wrinkles, then wrinkle cream with be worth it. If you struggle with acne, the face wash will definitely make a huge difference - even though it's only there for a few minutes. Harsh climates may need better moisturizer.

I know that's not a perfectly good answer, but I'm satisfied with the cheapo version of a lot of things. It's just, when it's a big concern of mine and the cheap version isn't doing its job, I keep stepping it up until I find something that does.

ITA. I usually try the cheap versions of products, and if I can't find any that do the job, then I buy the pricy stuff. For example, I love Neutrogena moisturizer, but it's not moisturizing enough for me, so I tried two more drugstore brands. None of them really worked for me, so I recently bought some by Amore Pacific. For face wash, I'm satisfied with the drugstore stuff. I think about every derm on the planet recommends Cetaphil. I don't often use toner, but I find that the cheap stuff works fine. I also agree that if you have problem areas, the pricier stuff may work better for you. HTH!
