I want to cry! (re: haircut)

I've been a real rut for the past 6 months regarding my haircut. The girl i have been going to for years has been slacking and not really listening to my needs anymore so I decided to try someone new.

Welp....I always hate trying someone new since they don't know my hair, how I like to style it, etc. BUt I wanted to take a risk and try something new..........WELL IT SUCKS!!! My haircut is awful! I have curly hair so i couldn't tell what she was doing until it had been blown out straight. It was too late to say anything and it was already shorter than what I wanted so i just wanted to get out of there!

I know its not the end of the world but I feel so depressed, grouchy, frustrated, annoyed, uuugh! I just dropped $100 (including tip) for a haircut I hate!!!!

The cut she gave me is so old school! I wanted some side swept bangs and she cut my hair that it falls on the side, but she didnt give me bangs. It almost looks like Jennifer Aniston's old bob on Friend's. grrrr!

She also did the thinning scissor thing on my hair and that nevers for my type of hair! I was just too trusting thinking she new what she was doing. :(

i'm so sorry - bad haircuts can truly be traumatizing and i've totally been there. is it worth going back to the salon and having them try to fix it (by going to someone else)? otherwise, just remember that it will grow back, and much quicker than you think. chances are it will look massively better within a week or so.

sorry this happened to you!

Oh, I can so identify with this.  I had one haircut that was so bad I had to go from NYC to Boston for a fix from my mom's stylist.  She basically had to cut off all my hair to fix the error (I have a short bob).  Please don't feel bad.  If you think you could have someone else fix it, I say go for it!  Or, if you think this stylist could fix things, maybe ask for a do-over?  I hope it works out and it will grow out in about 4-6 weeks!

Bad hair cuts can be really traumatic, I'm so sorry.  Unfortunately it sounds like there might not be too much anyone could do to fix it so you may just have to wait it out.  New haircuts always take some getting used to so maybe after a couple days you may find ways to wear it that you can live with. I love my new haircut now but the first time I washed it I couldn't figure out what to do with it and panicked.

That said, I just wanted to add my worst/best haircuts story:  I was so excited that my hair had finally grown out to my shoulders that I went to a new hairdress for layers.  She layered it so much that I almost felt like I had a mullet!  I lived with it for a week and couldn't deal so I went to Supercuts and paid them $10 to just cut the back off.  I ended up with a chin-length choppy bob that I LOVED, got so many compliments on and may still be the best haircut I've ever had. Who knew?

Maybe you could go back to her and see if she can do anything to at least straighten out the swide-swept bang situation.  This happened to me recently, too.. I wanted the sexy swide-swept bang look and the stylist basically just lopped off half the length of my hair on one side, and called it bangs.  It looked really bad.  So the next day I called her and told her I wasn't happy with it and she agreed to fix it.  I made sure to bring a picture with exactly what I wanted so she didn't screw it up further.

Maybe you could do that... or go to another stylist that can at least get the bangs right!
