I ordered two jcrew coats a few weeks ago one black and one camel in PS.  Well they didnt fit exactly right and I wasn't crazy about the colors.  I wear more brown and earthy colors then black.  So, they still have the deep auberine in PXS but its in the FINAL sale so if it still doesn't fit right or I hate the color Im stuck.  Advice?

I ordered a pair of bermuda shorts from J.Crew and they were supposedly final sale about 2 months ago. Well they didn't fit, so I tried returning them at the store and the SA let me return them no questions asked.  I don't know if I just got lucky, or if their final sale stuff isn't really final sale.


I think the deep aubergine color is beautiful and would go well with your wardrobe.  I find that J.Crew petite sizing is pretty close to their regular sizing. I ordered a dress in a P6 because I was told to size up in petites and it was still big.

Does it say anywhere on the receipt "final sale"  maybe they just don't want you sending it back?

I just bought a bunch of stuff as final sale last week and I saw that it said "final sale" all over the packing list.


If the reason why the black and camel ones didn't fit was because they were too big, it might be worth it to give the deep aubergine a try. The color is gorgeous and I've found it to be very versatile with both browns and blacks. However, you still have to evaulate if you'll need it badly enough to spend $150.

Yes. It said final sale on the receipt next to the item but the SA still treated it like a normal return.

I've found petite sizing on JCrew to always be a little off-- particularly on coats. I'm not a broad shouldered person by any means, but their P sizes always seem to have tiny shoulders.
I'd be wary of final final sale with them. (It does say final sale all over the slip)

But if you love it, then go for it-- you could always have it altered!

I just got an order from them last week that had "final sale" all over the packing slip too, but I called their 1-800 number about returning something and they immediately agreed to take it back, no arguing necessary.  IMO, the aubergine color is beautiful.  Were the other coats too big?
