Help!

I leave to go to Sri Lanka for the Ceylon Elephant Polo Tournament in 3 weeks, and I need clothing suggestions!

I am starting the shopping this week.

I'll be staying in the southern part of Sri Lanka, and we are staying on the beach in a villa. It looks like it will be in the mid to high 80's.

Daytime will be no problem, as I will be in my polo uniform, but I need stuff for the evening.

These are the the events:

2 cocktail parties
3 player dinners
a beach party
a gala ball

This is where all the events will take place:

Taprobane Island


Guidelines:

I don't have a specific price range, but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg either.
It's going to be hot.
I would like to mix and match, if possible, to offset packing too much.
I will be hobnobbing with some pretty interesting and cool people, so I would like to look fantabulous.

Please help!

Ah! I'm so excited for you! I just got back from five months in Sri Lanka! Taprobane is supposed to be stunning.

I'll try to think of outfit ideas. Will you be with Sri Lankans or just foreigners?

It will be with both. I know our elephant drivers will be Sri Lankan, so if you have any Sinhalese you can teach me, that would be awesome!

how fancy are the player dinners? Am I right in assuming something a bit more casual than a cocktail party?

ETA: I think your elephant polo thing is so cool! When you first told us all about it, I probably told every one of my friends because it sounded so neat

About the same dressiness as the cocktail party, if true to form to the Thai tournament. The beach party will be pretty casual though.
