I have an over body bag that's shaped like a leaf that I use when I'm doing stuff that I want to be hands free for, but I still need a purse. The leaf bag is super simple, it's just 2 pieces of leather that are stitched together with leather and it has a button closure. Since I love my little leaf bag so much, I've been looking for a black over body bag for when the rustic little leaf bag just isn't right.


I found this one, and I like the chain and hardware. I'm not 100% on it though... what do you think?

I don't know about the straps.  It's a lot going on for a small bag.  The bag itself I like a lot.

I think that's what making me question it most of all.


I think I would want to trim off the strands hanging mid-way on the strap, and knot the strands on the bag so there isn't such a tail hanging off them.


it's too spangly (is that a word?) what if I modified it?

Yeah, the chain is just to overpowering for that dainty little bag.  I would keep looking.

I don't really care for the two whip-like parts of the strap...it seems like it doesn't really fit with the bag.


If the chain was a bit daintier and extended for the full length of the strap it would be adorable though.

that's super cute, Collette - it's weird how the gray looks green on my monitor! ...$288 though... hmmm...

This Cynthia Vincent bag doesn't seem to be available online anymore but it was $200 on sale. Maybe some of the Anthro stores still have it. I've seen it in person, and the leather is absolutely gorgeous. It's a very dark navy.

I like the second Coach one Collette posted. I have a Gucci logo bag I bought in Rome just for that purpose & I get compliments on it every time I wear it. I have worn it way more than I ever thought I would, because it's so practical. I can't find a picture of it, but I'll keep looking...

1154 Lill just introduced their new Tara style that would be perfect for you.  You could design your own or pick out a pre-made bag and they are only $160.  I think they are super cute!!
