I needed a new bag to tote around my work laptop.  I bought this on a whim today:



But now I'm thinking I like this one better:



They are the same price. 
What do we think?

I actually like the leather one much more, but if you think you'll be happier with the fabric you should return.

I, personally, would keep the leather because it's classic, sleek, and more worth the money.  I'd say leather is always a better investment than fabric, especially if they're the same price.


If it's really eating at you though, you should get the fabric.

I haven't voted yet because I have a very important question to ask: Do you know what the weight of the leather one is?  I recall the issue you had with the other brown bag you ordered to keep your laptop in so that is my main concern.  I don't think that those bamboo handles would be very comfy on your shoulder if your laptop and bag are too heavy either.

Out of the two I like the leather better.


I also agree with Farrah - the bag looks like it might be a bit uncomfortable to carry a laptop around with since it has bamboo handles.

also, the bamboo is a non-issue -- it comes with a detachable leather shoulder strap (not shown in the pics)

Farrah, you're right (and you have a fantastic memory on top of it!).
My plan was to get a fabric Gucci tote bag mostly due to the weight factor.  But then I saw this leather one, and it looked so pretty & was the same price... sigh*, I was sold.
I have no idea how heavy it is. 
However, they both come with a detachable shoulder strap (not pictured) so I would not be using the bamboo handles at all.  That would be quite uncomfy!
I think I'll have to see it in person huh?  I hope it comes soon!

I actually like the fabric one better, but leather would be better for its purpose. And since they're the same price, the leather is the better deal. HTH!

I say leather. It's much classier looking imo and I think it would be more versatile in the long run. It's more likely to "go" with more of your outfits also. Assuming that's a factor, which I'm sure it is.

Well, I actually prefer the fabric one, the handles seem to "fit" it more.  You really can't go wrong with either one though.

Thanks ladies! I think what threw me is that they're the same price (actually the fabric one is a few dollars more). I would normally prefer leather over fabric any day, but since this is for my laptop I want it to be lighter weight. I guess I'll see when I get it!
I absolutely can't wait.... I am so excited!

Hey girls, I got the bag.
On the upside, it's quite beautiful. The leather feels nice but not too fragile. The leather strap is cool, all the details show good quality, and the bag is clearly well made.

On the downside, it's way too big. I knew it would be big from reading the dimensions, but this thing is so wide it looks awfully awkward on me.

Sadly, it's going back. The search for bag continues....
