Review of some JCrew stuff

I went to JCrew yesterday and saw the dress that blubirde was looking at and I saw something I totally think lynnie would like.

Here's the tunic that totally said "Lynnie!" to me:

It was super cute in person and the detailing along the edges was beautiful.  It looked seemed very well made and the fabric seemed like good transitional fabric for the spring.  Probably a bit too hot for the summer, but good for spring weather or cool summer evenings.

On to the dress blubirde was looking at:

This was really cute, but seemed a bit sheer, IMO.  There wasn't any lining, so you'd either have to have good nude undergarments or a slip of some sort.  I thought this dress from Banana Republic was cute too and it seemed less sheer:

The BR one has two pockets and is $20 less than the JCrew one.

Hope this helps someone!  I didn't get a chance to try it all on, so I'm not sure of the fit.

I saw the JCrew dress irl, too. I was a little disappointed in the thickness of the material as well. I was hoping for something a little sturdier because I'd like less of a "housecoat" look and more of a "Donna Reed perched on the doorstep" look, if that makes sense.

I'd still buy it if it went on serious sale but I'm not feeling it for $150. Too bad.

The BR dress is super cute. I'll have to check that one out.

i saw it IRL this weekend too- plus an SA had it on and it was absolutely adorable on her.  the only thing i liked more about the jcrew one was the thickness of the belt.  otherwise, i'm loving the BR one.
