i have no objectivity...the fact that the auction states the calf circumference is 17" is almost enough to make me buy them.

going for $25...BIN for $30

eh, I think they're kind of short and stumpy looking. I'd pass, but, then, I'm not big on flat boots.

I know you want boots that fit your calves, but save your money for something better- these aren't worth it.

i think they're going to hit at the widest part of your calf, rather than hitting just above the widest part, so they're going to look a bit stumpy.

IMO $30 is $30.

I agree they look a bit stumpy and unflattering.

Thanks ladies! I'm definitely passing. I have to admit that I'm getting desperate because my calves are now officially too large to fit in J. Crew extended calf boots.

I guess I'll probably have to save up to get E. Vogel custom riding boots in the near future.

if they were just a bit taller- i would say go for it!  when we were in london this fall all the chichi girls on the streets had flat boots that hit just below the knee (jeans tucked in) and the back of the boots did the same thing that it looks like these guys were doing (a slight V in the back).

since coming back to the states, i have been looking everywhere for a pair like the ones i saw over there but to no avail...

keep looking LK- you'll find your boots!

Absolutely not.  Even Giselle would look stumpy in those things.

I'm a long-time lurker, and post occasionally, but I had to jump in on this one.  Lilykind, I totally feel your angst on the boot/calf situation.  I found these boots this year (on sale at Macys and Bloomindales right now) and bought them in black and brown because I love them so much. The picture doesn't really do them justice -- there super soft and slouchy and comfortable.  Not to mention plenty roomy in the calf.  Definitely worth a shot.

hi!

Could you measure the circumference at the top of the shoes. It looks huge, so that's a good sign. I know that's kind of weird but now that I know my calves are at least 16" around I'm cautious of buying boots if I can't try them on first.

(we may have hit paydirt...they actually have my size in stock in black!)
