So I have several brown items of clothing that I've acquired recently that I really love -- pants, skirts, dress, coat, etc. And all the brown shoes that I have are heels and they just kill my feet if I wear them for very long. So I'm in the market for a pair of brown flats or low heels. But I don't see any that are cute and within my budget!

So here's the question: Do you wear non-brown shoes with brown clothes -- especially skirts and dresses? If so, what color and what color pantyhose? I'd love to get a pair of the cute Dolce Vita shoes on sale but none of them come in a real brown... Thanks in advance!

I think you can wear a lot of colors with brown... olive green, mustard yellow, gold, purple, burgandy, grey, navy.. I'm sure you'll be able to find something that's comfortable that will work.

I agree. I think most colors look good with brown. I especially like red, pink, and plum.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! Those JCrew flats are indeed super cute but I've actually had really bad luck with JCrew flats in the past so I'm a bit wary of them now... I'm considering either:





They both look reasonably comfortable and seem like they'd go with a lot. I guess I could wear grey tights with them and a brown skirt or dress?
