To make a long story short I lost a bunch of my DVDs on the plane last week. I fly every week and my coach Hamptons aren't cutting it and I hate the laptop bag. My criteria:
-Must be able to go with black and brown or cheap enough to buy two (I'm looking to spend under $2000) -Must have a strap long enough to go over my shoulder. -Must zip up and be able to hold my laptop(11in by 14in), ipod, DVDs, notebook, makeup bag, various magazines and snacks -Must be small enough to have as my second carry-on on the plane and work as my worktote/purse while on-site at the client during the week.
So far I think the Chloe large Edith bag would fit the bill but would this color look good with brown and black or gray? I'm always nervous mixing browns and blacks.
I know the Mezzo would be perfect but I'm hesitent to buy LV monogram. All the fakes out there kind of cheapen LV for me. Would it look professional or do you think it would be too showy? Would it work with gray and black?
Well, I tend to really like brown with black (they're like chocolate and licorice to me, always really yummy together!). So I love the Chloe. But I'm biased against monogram bags in general - too recognizable.
"like chocolate and licorice" haha when you put it like that it does sound like it would go together. Well I'm going to go check out some bags today but any other suggestions would be welcome!
Does that LV come in Epi leather? If so, you could do that--it'd still be just as classic as the monogrammed LV, would have the same quality and wouldn't be as recognizable.
I wouldn't get the LV bag, for the reasons you mentioned. I really like the chloe bag and think it would be fine to mix with balck occasionally, although I would like it better with neutrals and earth tones. Do they have the chloe bag in another color? I like eggplant and olive for using with both black and brown. Anyway, I think I'd rather have the chloe bag and occasionally mix it with black than the LV. Also, I think you can get away with mixing blacks and browns more often with carryon luggage.
I love the Louis monogram, even though it is knocked off so much....But the Chloe bag is AMAZING. The brown is beautiful and I think it would look very chic mixed with black. I vote for it.

Well girls thanks for the help. I absolutly fell in love with the Chloe when I saw it in person. The leather is AMAZING. I bought her and my laptop fits easily along with all my other stuff. This is the most I've ever spent on a single item and I'm actually scared to take it out of the house haha. In person the leather has less of a sheen but the sales girl told me that it would develop a nice patina as I used it.
