Microwave steamer - suggestions
Permalink Closed

I've had/used this microwave steamer for almost a year now!  It's awesome BTW~  I keep it at work, buy frozen salmon fillets and frozen veggies from Trader joe's and cook them up for healthy lunch meals at work. I seasonthem with the lemon pepper and lemon juice from TJ's as well.

Well - I'm nt quite sure what other things to prep in this besides fish and veggies.  I haven't tried chicken b/c I assume it will be all white and not flavorful.  Any ideas for easy & tasty option for microwave steaming at work?  TIA!

Well, it's not all that different, but maybe some talipia (sp?) filets? I know TJ's sells big bags for them for cheap.

Also, you could get chicken breasts that are already seasoned and steam them -- they wouldn't come out golden brown, but they would be flavorful.

Also, what about tofu? That would heat up quickly. I saw some seasoned tofu in Whole Paycheck the other day.
