Giving the wrong size on purpose?
Permalink Closed

I ordered the VS pajama deal last week in a S, in hopes that I would just give it to the person last left on my list.  I figured since they run big, it would fit anyone from a S-M.  I just went over my list and I am done with everyone except the babysitter who is nowhere near a S, she's more like a XL.  Sooo, since I dont have time to receive and exchange the PJs before Friday, should I just give her the gift w/the wrong size PJs and put a note in there telling her I received the wrong size but didnt want to not give her a gift, but that I will exchange it for the correct one after Xmas?

I would just return the pajamas and run by a store on your way home and pick up a gift card.  That would be something she could use immediately.  I got my sitter a Ulta gift card.

i dont know.  is she weird about her weight- it might be something she's sensitive about- ohhh sorry- here's a small- but i'll get you an XL later.  Maybe you can get her something small and tell her that her gift is lost in transit and you'll get it for her later.  Or you could just give her a holiday tip.

Yeah, I think that people can be really sensitive about their weight so it seems like the best option to try to return them and get her something else that she would like/use.

Can you run by a VS store and exchange them or pick up a GC for her?  I think saying "Here's a small, I'll get you an XL later" could be construed by a sensitive person as rubbing in the fact that they're larger.

I think that giving her a gift card is a great idea. Receiving something that's obviously too small might be pretty awkward for her.

when did you order? I got mine today, and the shipping confirmation came today, too, so they're running late on those. That should give you enough time to exchange, hopefully! If you don't have time to exchange, could you give her one or two of the other freebies?

I think I should be getting it today.  Has anyone ever exchanged PJs at the store?  I was under the impression I couldnt exchange something I bought online at the store.  If I can do that, then I think I'll be ok.

I *think* if they have it in the store you can return it...not in stock, but something they normally carry...you should be fine.

Ok nm...the website says if it is bought through the cataloug or online, you cannot return in the store.
