holiday gift for hair stylist?
Permalink Closed

Hi Girls,

So I'm goingo get my hair cut tonight and I'm wondering what the appropriate thing to do for the holidays is in terms of my stylist and color technician. (yeah, they actually call him that) Mywhole family goes to the same 2 people so I was thinking we could give them our holiday picture and something else, but what? help! T-3 hours!

money is always appreciated! maybe twice your normal tip? (or if that's too much, just add what you can afford as extra)

otherwise: chocolates, coffee, gift cards, etc. these are all items i've gotten and appreciated.

Actually, I think that the usual tip for hair stylists at Christmas is the cost of one visit according to my etiquette guide and a quick google search to confirm. (I haven't had a regular hair stylist in several years so I didn't realize it was that much!)

A small additional gift since you are close such as your family's holiday picture would certainly be appreciated, too!

this is true, but most hairstylists do not receive or expect this! the cost of one visit can be really pricey, esp if you are getting 200+ in color/cuts..
