I would like to get some cashmere sweaters. There are a lot of styles on sale at J. Crew. I'm worried about the itchy-ness though. I have very sensitive skin...and I dont want to order them online if theyre going to be uncomfortable (final sale). What is your experience with J. Crew cashmere? What other brands would you recommend that is around the same price point??
I think JCrew sweaters are very soft. I don't own any cashmeres from them though, because a lot of the girls here find that they pill like crazy. I can't stand that - I have much better things to do with my time than shave my sweaters. :)

The J Crew ones are soft but they $#)@! pill. I like the cashmere sweaters at Bloomingdales, I think they're by Sutton Studio or somesuch. They're really soft and pill significantly less than J Crew sweaters. When they're on sale, I think they're about the same, or maybe a little less than J Crew.
I got one from Bluefly a little while ago by Design History (I think that's the name of the brand) and it's suuuuuuuuuuuuuper soft. I'm wearing it right now as a matter of fact and I don't even need to wear a cami underneath, it's so soft.
I have a hayden one from bluefly and I LOVE it. I need more. It's super soft and hasn't pilled at all yet (I haven't had it very long, but I wear it constantly)
I've raved about this brand before on this board, but if you can catch a TSE cashmere sweater on sale at Bluefly or elsewhere, I think they are the ultimate in cashmere quality -- so, so soft and no pills even after tons of usage.
If you have access to a Barney's Co-op, their house brand always makes a lot of fun cashmere sweaters -- I've picked up 5 that I can think of off the top of my head over the past few years and they're always so super cute at a surprisingly reasonable price (equivalent to JCrew, if not better, on sale).
Mmm, cashmere. What I really want is a new cashmere blanket, mmm.

Yes yes! ITA, TSE is the ultimate, along with the really expensive stuff like Malo and Loro Piana. I have a TSE sweater that's a hand-me-down but you'd never know it because it's so nice.
Truth be told, the softest cashmere I own is my Park Vogel sweater, but that thing pills like crazy around the armpits, so, um...not so cute.
I find most cashmere to be really soft, so you have a lot of great brands to choose from.

me too! its the softest cashmere sweater i own. love it!!
I noticed that you mentioned having sensitive skin and were worried about itchiness. I can't wear cashmere because it makes me break out in hives. If you have problems with wool or angora I would recommend you try something cashmere on before buying it.
