D and Nicoley had that post about not getting gifts that are too extravagent. I'm returning my going away present for the boy tomorrow. After eight months of off and on, "this isn't too serious but we're good friends and like eachother" EXCLUSIVE dating, not hook ups, not booty calls, whatever. The boy is leaving for China. And he blew me off all week. It got to the point where I actually said, "Fine. I'm not goign to beg you to hang out with me. If you'd wanted to call me, you would have." (In response to yet ANOTHER "I'll call you when I get back..." message). So he apologized. Then he did it again. And now we're over (I believe the exact phrase I used was "f*** off") and I really feel like crap. I was all set to wish him a happy good bye and stay in touch. But right now it feels like it was all a lie. I can't believe he acted like this. And now he's out drinking with his friends and I'm just sitting home feeling sorry for myself. So had to rant :)

Dizzy, I'm sorry. At least you got rid of him now rather than hanging on for a while! He sounds like a real jerk, and you don't deserve to hang around waiting for him to grow up.

Thanks guys! He apologized pretty thoroughly, and got me a gift certificate for a mani-pedi at the best salon in town, which shows he actually has been paying a lot of attention to me. It was sweet - so I gave him his present too. And like D said, it was SMALL, but thoughtful. So it worked out. We're ending as friends and I think he did appreciate me, he just sort of freaked out about leaving.
