Study Abroad to Granada Spain...Help!

I have never been to Europe in general. And if anyone has visited Granada in Spain (or other parts of Spain) any advice would be appreciated. I already know to bring a fancy dress for any events that may come up (cocktail level or so). I have purchased a pair of brown comfy flats and a pair of knee high mid-wedge black boots, other than that I am at a loss...

Oh...I will be there this coming semester from late Jan to late May.

What time of year are you going?  It will get freakishly hot there.  Also, the weather's pretty mild even now...I was just in Sevilla and Madrid, and the only day I needed to wear a coat was the day it rained.  Every other day I was fine with a sweater.  As for fashion, it's just like here, didn't see a single new thing when I was over there.  Actually, was rather disappointed....everyone looked exactly the same as everyone else.  Have an awesome time!  How long will you be studying there?
