It's not wrong that you're not sad. I'm sorry that this happened, but I'm really glad that you've found peace. Enjoy the single life!

ETA: Can I just say... that's quite a chunk of change to waste on nothing.

It sounds like you did your grieving while still in the relationship, esp. for the past six months. So it's totally understandable that you're kind of done with most of the grieving process by now. Don't worry about what you "should" or "shouldn't" feel. Just handle how you do feel at any given time. You will most likely have pockets of sadness still at unexpected times, but you definitely have your head on straight about this and I'm glad your friends are taking care of you.

And now I'm really glad you are "shut of him" after reading about the lying and the debt. Someone else will come along with whom you can share your dreams, and in the meantime, you are on a good financial path. With a whole open road ahead of you, and lots of great new experiences waiting. Hurrah!

Wow, what a revelation for him to throw on you at the end there. As sad as it may be to see a long-term relationship end, I think you are better off without him. Getting into such deep debt and lying to you about it is terrible, as is accepting your help and leading you to believe he was saving for a house when he so wasn't. You were so smart to keep your finances separate!

I also totally agree that it sounds as though you were already mourning the relationship for a long time. Don't feel bad that you're doing fine. :) It is so exciting to think of starting over afresh, isn't it? You will definitely have a lot fun rediscovering yourself and receiving attention from new guys. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your breakup, but I'm glad to read the update and hear that you're handling it so well.  It sounds like you're making a good decision and you're ready for the next chapter of your life.  Good luck!

oh honey... i'm glad you are being strong. it's hard to get out of such a long relationship.. it feels like that person died, in a weird way.  it's been almost 4 mo since V and i separated... i feel over it, but not 100%. ... especially now during the holidays and everything w/ the kids, i feel sad and lonely, but i'll get through it - and so will you.  big hugs to you and PM me if you need to talk.
