New Years Eve in Chicago

It's my first NYE in my new city and I'm so excited. My boyfriend and I are going to be at the party at the W Hotel. What are all of you ladies doing for NYE? Chicago has so many amazing options.

Well after too many New Years that never turn out my DH and I have vowed to not go out on New years ever again. So that being said I'm having a small get together for me and DH and two other couples. We'll play board games, drink a ton of champagne eat yummy food which the boys will make for us! We did this last year and it turned out perfect.

That sounds pretty amazing actually-- I love those kinds of get-togethers and you will avoid all the downsides of going out that night. I have a feeling my bf and I will want to do that next year. But we figured we just had to have our "big night out" to celebrate our first NYE in our new city and then we'll stay home from then on.

We should get together sometime for coffee or shopping-- let me know by PM if you might be up for that :)

SO and I don't really see/make a big deal out of NYE.  The last two years, we did exactly what Collette did - hung out at another couple's house and played games, ate good food, and drank.

This year, I believe one of SO's friends is having a small party @ his house, so I think we'll be going there.  But if something else comes up - we're always up for it!

We still haven't decided on a major plan yet.  We have definitely decided against the major hotel party since we have done this several years in a row and while it is always fun it is insane to get a cab home and they end way too early.  Of course he and I have also decided that we are going to hire a car service to take us home though - I loooooove me some car service.

I have decided though that I am going to make a lovely dinner for the BF and I.  We met on NYE and I always like that day to be a little special because of that:).

I just want to caution you on the cab situation, too. It is brutal when the bars/clubs/parties let out. I went out last year with a group of 5 in LP and we literally had to fight off strangers trying to get in the cab with us. This was after at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes of trying to get a cab. I think I'll stick close to home this year. I'm getting too old for that.
