Car sits outside of house
Permalink Closed

Ok so there's this Maxima that keeps sitting in front of our house for long periods of time.  He's always sitting really low or laying back, and his car is turned off.  Tonight DH and I went out and asked him what he is doing.

He was talking on his cell phone, and said he is "waiting for his girlfriend," who lives down the street.  So we said oh is this like a secret bf/gf thing and he said yes.  So we said ok we were just kind of creeped out b/c you are always sitting outside of our house.  He said sorry, and drove to the other end of the street (to wait in front of some other poor person's house).

So is this something I should worry about?  Should we just ignore it or call the cops?  Just needing other opinions.  DH isn't worried.  Thanks!

I would call police  just to ease my own mind.  It shouldnt happen actually.  Its your neighborhood and its for you to feel safe at the safest.

I've heard of people doing that to steal wireless signals...if you have wireless, is it password protected?

Better to be safe than sorry, I would call the cops. You dont need some kid who freaks you out sitting in front of your house. You pay to live there, so you should be able to feel safe.

Besides, what the heck is he doing sitting there for long periods of time, if we is only waiting to pick up the girlfriend? That shouldnt take more than a few min ...

He's doing something, and it's not waiting for a girlfriend.  For what amount of time is he waiting there, and how often?

We got a notice to be on the lookout for a vehicle doing the same thing because they were stealing from houses & cars on our street. I say call the police.

Ditto.  Maybe if you can get his license plate number and call that in to the police so they can see if he's wanted for anything.  But yeah, I'd call the police anyway--it sounds like he's up to no good.

I wonder if he is a PI waiting to catch a cheater in the act.  There was an article in the paper yesterday about this and the PIs that they interviewed said that they do this.

Call the cops to make sure he's not a wierdo.

My sister-in-law had this happen to her this morning, she noticed this car parked in front of her house with a guy behind the wheel and she noticed him there all morning.... cops rolled by and she stopped them and told them about the guy in the car and the cops told her that hes with them. Hes an undercover cop, so know were just wondering whats going on in our neighborhood that theres that going on. Her husband's also and undercover cop so hes going to try and find out whats going on....

but anyways, if hes still there or shows up again, get his plate and call the cops. Keep us posted

This sounds creepy. Don't believe a word that guy says. I'm such a super cautious person myself, so I agree with everyone else. Call the police!

I never thought of most of those things!  I don't know if any of this info. helps, but he's young, has a French accent, and drives a Maxima.

I will definitely get his license plate # and call the cops next time!

Is he still showing up? If you cant get his plate, then just call the cops and they'll have a cop car over there soon to check it out.
