First- The colors on the cover design- brown, tan, gold, purple, soft pink. Not anything new. I've been obsessed with that color combination for quite a while now.
Second- Round-toe wedges. Nothing new here, either
Third- Basics- pencil skirt, turtleneck layered with tank. Again, nothing new. Show me something that I haven't thought of already.
Fourth- Mixing Bright Colors. Blah, blah, blah. Been there, done that. Everytime I turned the page I saw a combo that I've been wearing for a while.
I felt the same, Kenzie! And it never helps that the January issue is like the thinnest of the year... I always finish and think, "I'm done already!?"
Katherine Heigl does look nice on the cover, but I'm getting tired of seeing the same cover combinations every month. It's always a cami/tank dress with a cardigan or jacket over it. Always!
Things I didn't like: the knit layering article (the ideas were just not wearable!), featuring shearling in the What I Want Now! section (they feature shearling ALL. The. Time. it's cute, but show us something new!)
Things I did like: the Avril Gau bag in the What's Next section
They seem to have done away with my favorite feature -- a week's worth of style. I always loved that, but I haven't seen it in months.
Whew... that was cathartic :) Guess I needed to vent about Lucky!
I just didn't feel it. Although I loved the Christian Louboutin kelly green wedges...those were awesome. And I really miss the week's worth of clothing feature. It was so helpful to see someone make a few pieces work so hard. I hope they bring it back!

That was always my favorite too. I have even ripped out a lot of those and pinned them up in my closet bulletin board for ideas. They never did it very consistently, but it's been months since they've done one of those spreads.
Also, yeah this issue was boring. They had a pair of round toe patent Seychelles wedges that I know a bunch of people here have and bought months ago. Either we're way ahead of the trends or Lucky has really lost its edge.
oh thank god I'm not the only one who thought this was a terrible issue. About the only things I liked was the bright blue color they featured in the bright color section (not that I could afford that stuff) and the green wedges kittenheels mentioned.
I thought the white and black floral section was horrid. I like white and black to wear but floral?? And how could they not feature one item from White and Black?? You can't tell me that there wasn't anything in that store that wouldn't work for their feature.
If I want overly expensive fashion I'll read In Style or Vogue - not Lucky
I felt like I flipped through it in about five minutes. And I put it down thinking that maybe I shouldn't renew my sub. next time...some of the fall issues were okay, but I really miss the old Lucky - edgier, without nearly every item being signifcantly out of my price range.
I didn't even mark anything in the shoe section. And the whole Next Big Thing section - bleh.
I also miss the "week of style" feature. That was always fun and inspiring.
I wish there was something to replace it. :(

Did anyone feel like that work style piece they did was basically the devil wears prada with that girl? That revamped pic of her looked like something right out of that movie and that hair cut was definetly the same one. I thought her hair was much prettier the old way.

Oh and no leather backpacks for me either.
yep. And I felt bad for her!!
Didn't she look kind of like D in the aftre pic though? I had to do a double take!
How was the Beauty Section? (haven't gotten mine yet)
I don't even remember seeing it in there if that helps you any... If it was there it wasn't very memorable as I have flipped through mine twice since getting it on friday.

omg I was thinking the exact same thing! Her hair was exactly the same with the bangs and everything. I liked her "before" hair better.
This issue was tiny compared to the previous issues. The "Next Big Thing" issue was kinda boring too.
