any tips to stop bunching at knees with jeans in boots?
Permalink Closed

So I got some skinnies, and they're tucked into my boots, but there is still a lot of scrunching at the knees.  Is this normal and/or just going to happen b/c you're supposed to have a little room at the knee so you can walk?  I am confused.  How much bunch is too much?

This is pretty much what they look like now:

I think it just happens as you move but one trick I've tried is I tuck my jeans into my socks.  Not terribly sexy but it helps.

I've been annoyed with knee-scrunching as well, I've found that if I put knee socks on over my jeans it does help a little.

That's what I do as well. If you get tight ones it really helps.

Thank you...will try socks over the jeans!  As for the picture, what do you think?  Does it look OK...in case socks don't help as much and it's just the jeans?  Or should I look for even tighter jeans (yikes!)...

Honestly, I don't think most people would notice the little bit of bunching at the knees...I think we mostly notice that kind of stuff on ourselves.

Another thing that helps me is cuffing the jeans into one big cuff inside the boots. This works best if the jeans are on the long side.  If they're shorter, then I'd do what the other girls recommended!

In the olden days, when this look was last popular, we used jodhpur clips to keep the pantlegs taut inside the boots. Do a search online, you'll probably find them.

I know this may sound weird and I thought it was odd when I first heard about it but my friend told me that she actually wraps tape around the ankle of here jeans before she wears her boots. I actually tried this after she told me and it worked really well. Of course I did not want to take my boots off in front of anyone but in the comfort of my own home where I am alone..haha.
