really cute belt idea!
Permalink Closed

I was watching Martha Stewart, and they had their Blueprint magazine fashion editor on and she was showing ways to wear white shirts. They belted one with a men's tie.  I love how this looks! I have a boatload of vintage ties and some vintage tie tacks - this would be a great way to get some use out of them. Of course a newer tie would look great too

these aren't the best shots as I was taking pictures of my tv screen...

I was watching too and loved the idea! DH has a ton of ties that he doesn't need to wear anymore, so I might have to steal a few.

That is cute, but I'm afraid it would never stay in place on me. I hate being short waisted.

It was also in Marie Claire! I think Zac Posen or one of the other designers suggested it.

That's a really cute idea! The other day I found a random tie in my place left from the ex. Now I have a use for it, ha!

That is a really cute idea!  Thanks for the close up shots becuase when I first read it - I was thinking sloppy knotted tie.  But it looks like they sewed a pearl button on and put a button hole in the tie?  Thanks for sharing!

It might also be a straight pin with a pearl button end...my mom was a huger sewer and she always had a TON of those lying around.

Cute!

Martha was saying they used a tie-tack to pin it.  A funky brooch, hat pin, or other pin would look really cool too.

So did they cut off the other end of the tie (the narrow end) or just wrap it around her and tuck it in somehow?
