Within the past week or so, I've developed heartburn after I eat anything.  What could cause this?  I haven't changed my diet.  I occasionally eat spicy food, but the heartburn is there regardless if I eat something spicy or something as not-spicy as yogurt or cereal.  It's not super intense pain, but it does hurt somewhat and it's really annoying.

Any ideas?

It could be acid reflux...people with that sometimes get heartburn just from drinking water. If it keeps up I'd go see the dr.

I have no idea if this even happens, but maybe you have some sort of cut or sore in your esophagus/stomach/wherever? So then anything that hits it, hurts it

Acid Reflux is what I thought too, DH had the same time symptoms you're describing.  He was taking Tums for occasional heartburn, but then he started feeling pain around his upper chest, heart area no matter what he ate.  His doc prescribed a high dosage of Prilosec and he hasnt felt anything since.

Def. see the doctor.

i experience these symptoms whenever i'm under a lot of stress.  my body reacts to stress either with extreme heartburn or migraine headaches.

have you been under any stress?

Try some over the counter Zantac or Prilosec...if those help, then it is probably acid reflux...you may even need prescription Prevacid.  My hubby recently went through this.

However, it could be an ulcer...but if it is an ulcer, it probably won't react as well to the heartburn meds and the pain will persist.

His increased heartburn just popped up out of the blue...I think it was a mixture of less sleep, more stress, etc.  After a while he did get better...but still takes the occassional Zantac.
