i am looking for my bridal shoes and was wondering if anyone out there could offer some help.
i am looking for d'orsay or strappy sandal style with a 3-4" heel. i can't post a picture of my dress but its located at www.melissasweet.com and search "AVA" to see what it looks like. it will be ivory and at the reception after all the formalities i am changing into a shorter, cocktail style dress.
i have been looking at jimmy choos and christian louboutins but i like the older classic styles which no one online seems to carry. what is the best way to go about finding these styles? Would my local Saks be able to help me locate?
all i can say is that i'm reminded of tara t's wedding pics and i love love loved the pic of her choos. so i would do a shoe like that.

yes, D, its the same color as my wedding dress (thanks for posting that picture btw).
my mother is an amazingly talented seamstress and she is copying the dress with a slightly different neckline for me. so we are making the cocktail dress out the same fabric as the dress. just shorter and more fun to party down in!!!
ETA: i just looked at my ticker and realized it said "9 months 18 days" and thought... it can't possibly be 9 months 18 days until the wedding... and then i looked at a calendar and realized that it is!!! yikes!!!
bex - I love what you're doing with your dresses - that's a great idea! I will look around and keep my eyes peeled for you. in case I find a deal and it's only in one size, what size shoe do you wear?

thanks D! most of my shoes are a size "6"
my FH thinks it would be cute to have Christian Louboutins b/c of the red soles and the shorter dress towards the end of the night. they would be our little secret until it gets time to boogie down!
bluefly is always good for past season louboutins...
these are available in a 6 (I'm going to take liberty and be creative with colors I think would look nice -- do you know what colors you are using yet? again, I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I find any):

those are cute! i am looking more for a bit more of a sleeker look. i remember bluefly had a pair of CL's a while back that were satin d'orsay pumps that were a light pink... i also remember thinking that those would be good wedding shoes... good job on thinking and not acting bex!
colors of the wedding are chocolate brown and blossom pink with touches of champagne.
i am hoping to find shoes in gold, champagne, ivory or even light pink.
which i have always liked. i think they are the "Macy" style from JC. however, i wanted to be able to wear these shoes after the event without them screaming "WEDDING SHOES". so these might be a no...
also- why is it everytime i go to look at wedding shoes i end up falling in love with black leather or satin shoes? gah!!
Let me preface this by saying that I know absolutely nothing about weddings and so these shoes might be totally inappropriate. But I was admiring them the other day and since you mentioned that gold was one of the colors that you were looking for and you liked d'Orsays, I thought I'd post. I think they are to die for!
all i can say is that i'm reminded of tara t's wedding pics and i love love loved the pic of her choos. so i would do a shoe like that.
hey thanks !!! they are pretty, huh? let me tell you a little story about those shoes. first off, i buy expensive bags, and usually stick to under 250 for shoes. the JC's i bought, were way out of my budget. i had them on from my parents front door about 20 ft. into the limo, and wore them the whole limo ride. when i stepped out of the limo, the heel bent. GAH !!! luckily, i had backup shoes. butthead bent them so i could get photos taken in them, but they were not wearable. luckliy on my unexpected HM to vegas, (where i got them) the JC store fixed them and i just got them back monday 11-27.
so bex, take backup shoes :) but i will look for you too :)

i really like everyone's choices so far! thanks for all your responses.
i was going to purchase my shoes now (in order to break them in) but my lovely little MINI had to go to the shop today and she is going to cost me the same as approximately one pair of Christian Louboutin shoes! grrrr...
but having a working car is more important than purchashing my bridal shoes 9 months in advance... at least i keep trying to tell myself that!!!
