My Significant Other and Family are the "hard to shop for" type... and I try to get creative with my gifts but am really struggling.

What does everyone plan on getting their SO and Family (especially DADs, they seem the hardest!)?

Here's my list:

Mom- a necklace with our last name and our family's birthstones in it... and it's actually pretty
Dad- Red Sox tickets
Sister- some stuff off of her Sephora registry
Sister's fiance- UFC DVDs (he's training for Ultimate Fighting)
Nephew and BF's nephew- rocking chairs and foot stools that I got at a mill store, painted, put appropriate stickers on (Power Rangers for my nephew and The Wiggles for his), and upholstered
BF- tool chest and I'm undecided of what else
BF's mom and dad- board games, a huge dry-erase board (for Pictionary) and a GC to the market for snacks so they can host Game Nights at their house
BF's sister and BIL- Wine glasses that I etched with their initial and painted the stems, book about wine, and a bottle of wine
BF's brother- Lacoste polos and probably another little something
Grandpa- I'm making a shadowbox with all sorts of Red Sox memorabilia
BF's grandma- I'm making some sort of snow globe (minus the water) thing with butterflies and flowers inside... it's so hard to describe, but it's just the kind of thing she loves to get. Maybe I'll have to post a pic when I finish it because it sounds really weird, huh?

My hubby is a sporty guy, so I am getting him a lot of Under Armour. It's this brand of clothing that "breathes" and lets the wearer be cooler/more comfortable. Apparently it feels light as a feather and works. My hubby LOVES it. So, I got him an Under Armour polo (he has tons of these), underwear and an undershirt to try, and a new pair of sports sandals. I wore his old nes out to the garage, and they sucked! I also got him a CD, and some cologne. I still need to pick him up a sweatshirt from his college, he doesn't have one.

As for his family, we will get his dad some UA too, I bought two shirts for his sis, a leather purse and some make up. So far for his mom I've only bought her perfume and mascara. SIL's boyfriend will get cologne and probably some tools, and grandma will get a gift certificate to a local nursery and hubby and I will spend a day in her yard planting and clean and what not. We'll take her out to breakfast before spending the certificate, and order in lunch. Her house is too full already, and she likes her yard well cared for, so this is a perfect fit.

There's an SO thread in general interest polls you might want to check out.

Thank goodness this family my family made an agreement not to buy presents...my dad is the worst! I start looking for things for him in August!

For my SO, I'm getting him
-a shirt that says "You're Handsome" backwards (so when he looks in the mirror he can read it... I think its hilarious)
-hopefully a print from an artist he loves. We went to an art fair a few months ago and he picked up the card from some guy whose work he adored, and forgot the card at my house, so I stole it...but the guy's email address on the card doesn't work! Ahhh!
-A green tea cup and some green tea (he loves it)
-If I can't locate the artists print, I'll also get him a tie with a print of Bach's handwritten notes for one of his songs (he's a musician)
-And last but not least, I found some bandaids on fredflare.com that look like bacon. I know that's gross, but he'd get a kick out of them

I started a thread yesterday in shopping and fashion asking for cool websites to shop for xmas gifts. The responses were full of amazing websites, I seriously looked at them for hours yesterday. I think you'll be able to find something for anyone looking through them!
