I disputed an old cable box collection account and 2 lates from Mervyns online, I checked my score and they're gone! gone! gone! In only 3 weeks!
I've been trying to clean up my credit since we're planning on buying a home next summer. Now Im working on disputing with the other 2 credit bureaus. If things work out this quickly, we'll be approved for the best rates in no time!
Congrats - that rocks!!! I was pleasantly suprised at how quickly my credit report was updated with things I changed/did. Seems like one of those things that really could take months or something ... I'm glad it doesn't!
Just think, 40 points in only 3 weeks, and you have another 6 months or so ...!

WOW! That's great, maybe I need to look into that myself! I wonder what my score is as well! LOL
If you don't already know, you can get a copy from all 3 bureaus free once a year at www.annualcreditreport.com.
I got all 3 scores from www.myfico.com by signing up for their 30 day free trial. Just remember to cancel before the 30 days, I think its like $90 thereafter.
Congrats BargainQueen - I know the feeling to see one's FICO increase.
I would like to add an important point about the free credit report and disputing information.
The FCRA requires that the credit bureaus must conclude an investigation within 30 days of a requested dispute from a consumer. However, with FACTA things changed a bit. FACTA made a free annual credit report a legal right. However, if you receive your free annual report, and use that report to dispute with the credit reporting agencies than they have 45 days to investigate. So if you obtain your report directly from the credit bureaus themselves - they have 30 days. If you obtain it from annualcreditreport they have 45 days.
Why is this important? Because that 15 days can make a big difference on the results of dispute.
