I have a 10 year old sister and DH and I --- ok not DH -- I'm brainstorming on what the heck to get her for Xmas.  She's an athletic, HS Musical, Vanessa Hudgens, Zack Efron loving pre-teen tween.

Any one else shopping for tweens this year? Any ideas on what to buy her?

The only tween I'm buying for this year is my cousin. I'm taking the easy way out and getting her a Philosophy 3-in-1 in Hot Cocoa and a Philosophy lip gloss in the same flavor, putting it in a box with a cute mug and some hot cocoa packets. I might put in some peppermint marshmallows that I'm making in there, too. I don't want to buy her makeup because she's still kind of young, but she wants some so bad... I figure that lip gloss is close enough without defying her parents. I don't know if that helps you particularly, though.

This is obvious, I'm sure, but how about the High School Musical DVD or soundtrack, or doesn't the girl from the movie have a CD out? Amazon has a board game for $20

I forgot about the makeup obsession!  I may get her some lip gloss too.  She's been wanting the Vanessa Hudgens bio, but as you mentioned, it not out until Jan. 07.  The DVD game is perfect! That and some shearling ugg look alike boots she's been talking about.

Thanks!

I am buying for a 10 year old too.  Limited Too has some cute stuff.  I bought her the Hannah Montana CD and was looking at the American Girl collection they have at bath and body works.  I may just put a little gift set together from that.  I would love more ideas tho!

I'd get her some cute clothes, from limited too or ON or somewhere... nowhere waay expensive because she'll grow out of them quickly! But when I was that age I'd hate the clothes my mom picked out for me but I loved what my aunt bought me. Maybe you could go shopping with your mom and pick out something together? Just coming from an awesome older sister might up the "cool" factor. And then your mom can get her into whatever she wants her to wear! I know when I was that old my mom was starting to get nervous about what I was wearing because I couldn't put together a nice outfit to save my life. She bought me a lot of clothes around the holidays, but just because they were from my mom I decided that they were "frumpy"

If she likes High School Musical, maybe you can find tickets for the show/concert. I know it's going to be playing in my city soon.
