Recycling old Tshirts.
Permalink Closed

I finally found a way to recycle my much-loved T shirts (they're just too small for me anymore, but I kept them around because I love them so much!) Obviously this is not something I'd put out on my fanciest occasions, but for a snuggly movie night? For sure.

T Shirt Pillows

I will soon have pillows featuring these beauties:

And... I cannot lie. I'd buy this shirt just to make it into a pillow. Imagine! A pillow with a picture of "pillow fight" on it!

I think I'm a nerd.

Anyway, does anyone else have any other ideas for saving old Tshirts? I have tons I'm not ready to part with, but I don't wear any that often because they don't fit me well!

You could frame them and hang them in your closet or room or something!  Ya know, wrap it around a piece of cardboard cut to fit a frame, centering the design?

You could use them as applique on a plain apron -- just cut around where the design is and sew it on!  You could also find some plain tote bags and do the same thing... that way they'd have a new, functional lease on life!

Bex has sent me the instructions on how to make tshirt quilts.  I have yet to make one but as I look at my tshirt drawer I think I need too.  I just need to find a sewer.  If you want the instructions let me know and I'll find the pm for you.

Hmm, I think I should stick with the pillows for now. I am anti-crafty, so even these might be a disaster. But thanks!!

I am anti-crafty too.  Which is why I still have a huge pile of tshirts.  I need to find some old lady that likes to sew and make things and just pay her to do it.
