I'm hoping to get my bf a nice men's bag-- probably messenger style. Leather/canvas or something a cut above the ten-year old bag he still has from his college days.
I've thought of J.Crew Banana and Jack Spade-- I'm sure there are others out there. Does anyone know nice men's bag brands? (Not super duper $$ but still nice)
It's very classic... from Filson. It's oil-finished twill with leather handles... something meant to take some beating-on over the years so it develops some character. Right now they're swinging it for $125.
My bf's is from coach and a light tan color. I'm not sure if they have any, but its a nice leather bag that wears well (has plenty of room for his laptop and a variety of other things).

I got my boyfriend this laptop bag from eBags that is Kenneth Cole:
He didn't want something that was trendy, and it has plenty of room for his big laptop (not easy to find one with the right dimensions) and you can always manage to find a great coupon code for eBags. I think they're having $10 off today. Anyhow, the quality was quite nice and it looks better IRL! Plus, an amazing bargain at only $100 (without code) plus a free leather business card holder.
Otherwise, I have a Coach leather laptop bag and the quality is really nice and it's super classic and Tumi's are nice.
