So since I got my spling off my nose the sking on my nose is gross. Dead skin so bad my skin looks discolored. Not cover upable with make up because it's flaking and makup makes it worse. I can't exfoliate with anything rough because to say my nose is teder is an understatement. So I'm looking for a product, preferably a mask that I can use to help this. I'm having friends over on Saturday and just want to look normal. Cany anyone suggest a mask to use that will help clear out the dead skin? I'm blocks from Sephora so I can pretty much get any product. TIA to anyone who can help me!

I don't have a specific rec., but it seems like it will have to be a chemical and not a physical, so something with some AHA or BHA acids. Maybe you can swing by, explain your problem and let them point you in the right direction.

I'd do an aspirin mask - you can scrub as lightly as you need do, or not at all if it really hurts.  Comes off easier than any commercial mask I've tried, so you'd run less risk of having to wipe hard to get all the residue off.

This is gross, but when I have a cold I seriously blow my nose ALL THE TIME and by the end of the week or two it lasts, my nose is seriously a peeling mess. I usually put Vaseline all over before I go to bed, and in the morning I put a little on, wait about 10 minutes, and then rub gently with a wash cloth

Hey Collette could you talk to your doctor? I bet this happens to other patients and they know what works. But ITA you need a chemical peel type mask. Hope it work out for you.

Sure!  All you do is take 2-3 uncoated plain aspirin (a big bottle is like 99cents at the grocery store), break them in half and dribble just enough hot water on them so they dissolve.  Then I usually add one squirt of Cetaphil for each aspirin and mix it together.  Then you just apply to your skin and wait a couple minutes, dampen your fingers and scrub a bit if you want, and then rinse off.  I'd follow up with a good moisturizer after that.

Hi Collette,

My nose was the same way when I got my cast off. Honestly, I think the best thing to do right now is to be gentle and leave it alone as much as possible. I would apply Oil of Olay Regenerating Serum liberally on my nose day and night and that helped a lot. But I wouldn't recommend putting anything too abrasive or chemical-y on your nose now since it's still healing.

How are you liking your results so far? If you need anything let me know, since I live fairly close by! :)
