I am pretty sure my father-in-law had this done about 5-6 years ago. I don't know anything about it, but I can ask him over the weekend if you need me to.

I had sinus surgery in April.  I used to have chronic sinus headaches that would last for weeks.  The surgery has done wonders for my sinus headaches.  I still have problems when I fly because of the pressure, but otherwise it has been great.  The surgery itself was pretty short, my husband drove me home that day.  I was groggy from the meds, but I wasn't in too much pain.  I would say the worst things about the surgery were (a) they basically stick two tampons up your nose after the surgery and 24 hours later you have to pull them out that sucked and it hurt like hell, (b) you can't breathe through your nose for about a week until you go back to your doctor and she vacuums out your nose from the surgery (the vacuuming is not pleasant either, but feels good after he/she does it).  I stayed home from work for about a week, but mainly because I couldn't walk very far without being out of breath.  Two weeks after the surgery I was back to my regular 6 day a week gym routine and feeling good.  Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

thank you both! halleybird, i'm mostly curious if he's happy w/the results. i know some people who've had the surgery end up worse afterwards (scar tissue build up can make you worse than when you started, apparently).

and mckenke, i'm happy to hear that it helped you.  i may pm you w/more questions.

thanks again!

I'm currently two weeks past my rhinoplasty/septoplasty. It was both cosmetic and to fix my septum. My nost had been broken more than once and I had a severe deviated septum as well as a bit of a whole in my cartilidge making it very difficult for me to breath out of the right side of my nose. PM if you have questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them!

sorry i'm late to posting, but i had my adenoids removed when i was in 7th grade, so let me know if i can help you at all.  i'm not sure what kinda sinus surgery you would be having, but i might be in the same boat pretty soon.  i'm pretty familiar with ENT stuff so pm if you want.
