Can you tell me about Frye Boots
Permalink Closed

I have always really liked them but never got around to trying them. In my searches I have found 2 pairs that I am torn between. The Frye Campus and the Veronica. I am thiking the dark brown is going to work best in my wardrobe.

So here are my questions: What is the difference between the Campus  and the Campus 14L (what does that L stand for)?

I know this has been asked before, but while I am on the subject, what is the sizing like.

Are the calves wide enough for a thicker calf? I am ok in most boots, but every now and then I have problems with some brands.

Any input, experience, opinions or advice is welcome.  TIA

Are these the boots you're looking at?

Veronica (dark brown)

Campus 14L (dark brown)

Of those two, I prefer the Campus if you're going to be kicking around in the dirt/farm/rocky areas/etc., but the Veronica if you're just going around town. I like the color of the Veronica but I suspect that it's darker IRL. I love the Campus but definitely not in dark brown...if you want a deeper color I think chocolate or blazer brown would be the better choices. However, I really freakin' love them in Saddle...I find Saddle to be more versatile than people think.

I have really thick calves and Fryes are the only non-stretch, non extended-calf boots that consistently fit me.

I own the Campus 14L in Saddle & the Bari slouch suede boot in Chocolate. These days I'm more partial to the Bari because it's sleeker and more urban than the Campus, but I love both.

HTH!
