I think it looks pretty conservative. Most men, when describing a conservative tie, mean no bright colors or large prints. This has a small-scale muted tone pattern - I think it falls in the conservative category. It would look really nice with a camel color shirt.

I just asked the bf and he said no. His suggestion was BR or JCrew for something more conservative. Also check out the BCBG line at Dillards. They have some really cool ones.

I love JCrew ties, I wish the stripes/patterns came in women's shirts as well. They are just so fabulous, plus quite well made IMO. The bf has something similar to the green/blue striped one and it goes with so many things and the material is just gorgeous. I like:
Also, in some places you can find stores that just sell ties. I forget the name of it (even though I'm sitting in a tea bar abou two blocks from it!) at the moment, though. The ties seem to be quite nice from their window displays.

I agree with the other posters that suggest it's not that conservative. If if your guy is preppy like many of the men in my life, here are my all-time favorite places for high-quality conservative ties (and other mens clothing):
i guess everyone is voting no on it being conservation but i think it is definitely conservative. and pretty. I don't do a very good job of picking out ties for my hubby though.

I think conservative varies widely within industries. For example, my DH works in investment banking...where people primarily wear blue or white shirts...so his idea of "adventurous ties" is probably really boring for someone in a more creative environment. I would recommend Hermes, Ferragamo, Brooks Brothers or J. Press for a wide assortment.
FYI - DH would totally wear that tie, so I think it's conservative! And, very pretty!
