I met my bf on line in a forum my good friend posts on and convinced me to join.
It turns out he is close friends with her and her husband, but I didn't know that when I first met him.

I was going through a hard time when we met and he sent me a very sweet private message on the forum in response to a post I had made.(he could tell I was feeling depressed).
I sent him a reply thanking him and after that we would send messages back and forth to each other. Then eventually we started talking on IM to each other.
We were friends for 3 months before we started dating,We have been in a relationship for 6 months now.

in Human Sexuality class...

actually we two classes together (fall semester our senior year of college) and the other one was smaller and provided more actual getting-to-know-you time, but it's funnier to say we met in Sex class.

anyway, i got the impression he was into me, so i tried to encourage it by flirting but he seemed oblivious to my overtures.  then one night i was sitting in my dorm and he called me (he looked me up in the student directory) and asked me to dinner. obviously i said yes.  not as a cute a story of some you girls have, but i'm impressed since boys seem to get weird about the actually asking you out for a "date" thing vs. just hanging out.

of course, that Sexuality class was at 8 am and the professor definitely noticed when we started coming in together.

Sounds fitting to me!

In an AOL Chat room. He IM'd me and I knew he was special from the start. Unlike a lot of internet jerks, he was sincere and a total gentlemen. We spoke on the phone for long hours before meeting in publc. He sent me pics of himself which included not only good pics but him at his worst. We eventually married.

There are a lot of people who warn about hooking up with guys from the internet. I know from experience there are a lot of creeps out there on the internet. I took a huge risk too, because we both live in NYC. But when I was dating, I met a ton of creeps at bars, occupational associations, political associations, and blind dates arranged by well meaning friends (one of the biggest all time jerks I dated was the brother of my best friend).

I love this. I have to think if I was still single & lived in a large city I'd do the same. How else are you supposed to meet someone that isn't a social bar fly (not a good attribute in a husband) without friends / relatives setting you up - which quite frankly has always been a utter failure for me.
